The wait is finally over as Ystrad Rhondda Youth begin their league season this Saturday with a much-anticipated clash against Aberdare at Wattstown RFC.
When the two sides last met in a mid-season friendly, Aberdare came out on top in a tight contest. That result serves as a reminder of the challenge ahead and will no doubt provide motivation for the Youth as they look to test themselves in their opening fixture.
Preparations have gone well over the summer, with the squad putting in plenty of effort during pre-season. While there is always room to grow, the team are looking forward to the opportunity to put their hard work into practice against strong opposition.
A big thank you goes to Wattstown RFC for making their pitch available for this weekend’s game, with the senior side in action at home. The support is greatly appreciated and ensures the Youth can get their campaign underway.
Supporters can expect a competitive contest to start the season, and the Youth will be aiming to put in a committed performance that sets the tone for the months ahead.
Come along and show your support — it promises to be a fantastic game of rugby!
