Mazin broke into the senior set up from Ystrad Rhondda Youth as an athletic back rower. His physicality and speed made an immediate impact in the 1st XV which was soon spotted by Glamorgan Wanderers in the Welsh Premiership. After several years there, he returned in 2012 to join a promotion push when the club won Division 2 East Central, where he played a key part at no8. Injuries disrupted the latter part of Maz's career, but after several seasons out, he returned to help the club during the National Championship campaign in 2019/20, filling in at 2nd row.
