A great servant to Ystrad in the 2010's, 'Nugget' took over as player coach for the 2nds XV and was instrumental in organising 'The Roosters' during a successful period of 2nds XV rugby at the club. Nugget was also part of the wider 1st team squad over this time, appearing in the 2nd row when called upon. Upon the disbanding of 'The Roosters', Nugget then led the youth team, with the highlight being a successful cup run where they were Welsh Plate winners at the Principality Stadium.
