Micky Griff is arguably the clubs most decorated player. After starting out at Ystrad 1st XV, his career took him on to Bridgend, Cardiff, Wasps and Pontypridd. His performances as a mobile and tough scrummaging prop, gave him international recognition in the Welsh jersey before the ultimate honour of British & Irish Lions selection for the Tour of Australia in 1989.

Mike returned to the club at the end of his career, seeing out his final season as a player before returning as Head Coach, taking the team to the old National League Division 1 and inspiring a group of young players who continue to serve the club in various capacities today.
